What is BAKESGIVING?

BAKESGIVING is an event in the HKIS High School Library to raise funds for Running to Stop the Traffik. This 24 Hour Race raises funds and awareness for human trafficking and slavery through endurance type sporting events. HKIS has 16 runners for the the 24 Hour Race on November 23.

Student bakers from HKIS also contributed to raising funds by baking goods to be sold during the school day. This is more than an average bake sale however; students bake goods and then two items go up against each other. So, for example, Salted Caramel Cupcakes were running against White Chocolate and Raspberry Cupcakes. When a student bought baked goods, they were buying a taste and had to choose and vote for the best one out of the two. Ooooh, BAKESGIVING is DELICIOUS!
